Images of my work allow you to observe the attributes of collecting materials and reimaging how they can be utilised and interpreted for storyteling purposes.
All artworks have a story entwined into its physical self - whether expressed in found, organic or maunfactured materials - printed, exposed, pressed or wrapped - laided out, hanging or formatted, the stories are there to be found, followed and explored.
Investigation and inquiries lead to advanced knowledge, insite, or emotions, taking the onlooker into a journey.
Theories and sometimes the practical process of using other materials like a mosaic tessera enable me to utilise the practice of creating andemanto, the movement in a mosaic, like a conductor would move their orchastra through a piece of music, in mosaic art the artist controls the movement within an artwork by concidering the form, impact and flow of the tessera next to eachother.
The mosaic is taken from a state of confinement to sometimes floatting and suspended , without limits and bounderies.
These forms of equiry in to materilas enable me to use any mateiral and manipulate it to form new pathways to storytelling. Utilising space and materials together to form networks of information delicately concidered and observed for greater impact. Creating works that the observer can engage, find curiosity, education or humour.
