'Urban Symbiosis’ - The ART in living
This opportunites are designed to take you on a journey of making that give you a visual voice, exploring identity and the place where you live, using different perspectives of people engaging in THE ARTS as the visual imagery and form. The artworks aim to celebrate how taking part in arts activity, professionally or as a hobby, can or has impacted or influenced your lives for the better.
The course is an incredible opportinity to work alongside International muralist Andy Bolton to create an exciting permanant mosaic for Newport communities. This course will teach and explore the power in muralism through the movement of andamento to create impact and form. Your power is your voice, art is a messenger to sharing it. This exciting opportunity opens the potential for individuals to support international mosaic artists Maureen O'Kane , supported by Louise Shenstone to create a contempory moais artwork that explore the expresion in literature and performance. Designed for the supporters and users of The Place, Art in the heart of the city. Have your say and get involved in this wonderful creative event and making.

This opportunity is for the Welsh Language community and those who support it. Celebrating all that is welsh culturally and personally, through a visual backdrop of music and song. The series of workshops will allow you to support in the creating of a contemporary mosaic for your community. Host artist Stephanie Roberts, supported by Maureen O'Kane.

'Roots is a Self-development organisation empowering young girls in the community through Faith, Creativity and Community. We support the well-being of BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) young girls in Newport.'
THE TEAM
Four international Mosaic Artists from South Wales
One project inspired by the iconic mosaics of the Old Green Intersction, roundabout and underpasses in Newport's city centre, by the superb Kenneth and Oliver Budd.
A community mosaic project working in partnership with The British Association for Modern Mosaic (BAMM)
We would like to invite all to take part in-
Drop-in Design Session - Saturday 14th September 1-5pm @The Riverfront so to bring diversity, identity and a collaboration of ideas together. Come and get involved and together help design 4 life sized figures that say something about who you are, in the place where you live.
Choose from 2 workshops and a Course to assist the making of these designs into mosaics, or join the Course to learn more about the practical aspects of desig, technique of mosaic art while collaborating with the artists.
